What are essential items of nutrition information in China?

It contains five essential items: title, name of nutritional components, nutrient content, NRV% and box.

1. Title. Use “nutrition information” as Title;

2. Name of nutritional components. Label the energy and nutritional components according to name and order indicated in table 1 of GB 28050;

3. Nutrient content. Refers to the numerical value of content and the expression unit. For better understanding, expression units can also be located after the name of nutritional components, such as: energy (kJ);

4. NRV%. Refer to the energy or nutritional components content as percentage of corresponding nutrient reference value (NRV);

5. Box. Use table or corresponding form.

Each item of nutrition information should be in Chinese, if English is necessary, it should be corresponding to Chinese. When enterprises making the nutrition label, they can adjust the font according to the layout design, so as not to affect the correct understanding of consumers.
