An enterprise in Zhejiang Province has been ordered by market regulators to make corrections and confiscate related food products because of selling foods produced in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
Jiashan County "Shopping Jiaxing" (Yangguang West Road store, business license name Zhejiang Shopping Jiaxing New Retail Technology Co., Ltd. Yangguang West Road Branch) and other stores sold foods from nuclear radiation area of Japan. An inspection by law enforcement officials found 46 packs of Fujiya grape flavored gummy, 21 packs of Fujiya apple flavored gummy, 4 boxes of Fujiya Anpanman Friends chocolate and 10 bottles of Suntory Gokuri peach juice beverage from Japan's Fukushima, Toyama, Saitama and Nagano Prefecture.
According to the Announcement of the State Administration for Market Regulation No. 44 of 2011 — Announcement on Further Strengthening the Inspection and Quarantine Supervision of Imported Food and Agricultural Products from Japan, the Fujiya grape flavored gummy, Fujiya Anpanman Friends chocolate and Suntory Gokuri peach juice beverage, which are operated by the party, are prohibited from import. The party sold a total of 14 packs of Fujiya grape flavored gummy, a pack of Anpanman Friends chocolate with 5 packs of gifts and 22 bottles of Suntory Gokuri peach juice beverage. The total amount of prohibited food sales was 480.92 Yuan, with 1269 Yuan of value and 203.52 Yuan of illegal income.
The Market Supervision Department, in accordance with the Law on Administrative Punishment, ordered the store to rectify the illegal behavior of operating foods prohibited by China for special needs such as disease prevention. According to the Food Safety Law, the foods involved were confiscated.
