On July 29, 2020, the SAMR issued the Announcement of SAMR on Publicly Soliciting Opinions on the Guiding Opinions of the SAMR on Strengthening the Supervision of Webcast Marketing Activities (Draft for Comments) (hereinafter referred to as Draft). The deadline for comments is August 28, 2020. It is the first time that China has raised the supervision of live streaming marketing activities to the legal level. In the future, live streaming will no longer be out of law. The Draft clarifies the legal responsibilities of online platforms for failure to implement their duty in webcast marketing activities, the sale of counterfeit and shoddy goods by commodity vendors, and false propaganda by webcasters.

Solicited Opinions on the Drafts for Filling Foods
On August 12, 2020, the SAMR issued an announcement on the public soliciting opinions on the technical requirements of five materials in the List Of Health Food Raw Material of the filling health food including Coenzyme Q10 (Draft for Comments), and solicited comments on related supporting documents. In March 2019, SAMR issued a list of health food raw materials for comments. It is proposed five raw materials including Coenzyme Q10, Fish oil, Sporoderm-broken of Ganoderma Lucidum spores powder, Spirulina and Melatonin. After collecting and summarizing feedback, the SAMR successively carried out follow-up work. The deadline for comments is September 12, 2020.
Besides, on August 12, 2020, the SAMR organized draft of technical requirements for the filing of gummy and powders, and revised the Available Auxiliary Ingredients and the Use Regulations for Filing Health Food (2020 Edition) (Draft for Comments) and Dosage Form and Main Production Processes of Filing Health Food (2020 Edition) (Draft for Comments). A Number of National Food Safety Standard are Soliciting Opinions
On August 31, the NHC issued a letter on soliciting comments on 16 national food safety standards (draft for comments), the deadline for feedback is October 20. One of the most concerned standards is the National Food Safety Standard General Rules for Nutrition Labeling of Prepackaged Foods. The main changes include expansion of the scope of application, supplement of the basic requirements for nutrition labeling, expansion of the definition of serving reference value, adjustment of mandatory labeling items and some NRV values, supplement of the labeling and expression method of nutrients, supplement of recommended formats, and adjustment of the content of Appendix C and Appendix D.
