A: According to the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, the Measures of the People's Republic of China for the Administration of Import and Export Food Safety and the Announcement of the GACC on Matters related to the Inspection, Supervision and Administration of the Labels of Imported and Exported Prepackaged Foods (No. 70 of 2019):
I. At present, the labels of imported prepackaged foods do not need to be filed with the Customs.
II. The labels of imported prepackaged foods, as one of the food inspection items, are inspected by the Customs in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws and administrative regulations on food safety and imported and exported commodity inspection.
III. Overseas exporters and overseas manufacturers should ensure that the foods, food additives and food-related products exported to China conform to the provisions of relevant laws and administrative regulations of China and meet the requirements of national food safety standards, and be responsible for the contents of labels and instructions.
