On August 23, 2023, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment publicly solicited opinions on a new variety of nutritional fortification substance in foods — 2'-fucosyllactose, two food additives with the scope of use expanded — L-alanine and propylene glycol alginate and three novel foods including (3R,3'S)-β,β-carotene-3,3'-Diol. The deadlines for comments are September 18, 2023 and September 28, 2023, respectively.
A new variety of nutritional fortification substance in foods
Chinese name: 2'-岩藻糖基乳糖
English name: 2'-fucosyllactose, 2'-FL
The dosage, scope of use and quality specifications of 2'-fucosyllactose should meet the requirements of food nutritional fortification substance 2'-fucosyllactose in the Public Solicitation of Opinions on 10 New Varieties of Food Additives including Potassium Polyaspartate by the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (Except for Appendix C Information on the production bacteria used for the production of 2'-fucosyllactose). The information on production bacteria of the new variety of nutritional fortification substance is shown in the following table.
