In the first quarter of 2024, the national market supervision departments completed 769,478 batches of food safety supervision and sampling inspection according to related national food safety standards. Among them, 18,129 batches of unqualified samplings were found, and the unqualified rate was 2.36%, with an increase of 0.18% compared with the same period of 2023.
Analysis of Unqualified Food Categories
The supervision sampling unqualified rate of processed grain, edible oil and fat and its products, meat products, egg products and dairy products with large consumption was 0.36%, 0.37%, 0.69%, 0.07% and 0.05%, respectively, which were all lower than the overall unqualified rate. Compared with the same period last year, the unqualified rates of 14 categories of foods such as catering food and frozen beverages have reduced, while that of 18 categories of foods such as foods for special dietary uses and condiments have increased.
Analysis of Unqualified Reasons
Some unqualified items include the followings: organic contamination 8.78%, uses of food additives beyond the scope and limits, microbial contamination 11.75%, veterinary drug residue exceeding standards 6.35%, substandard quality indicators 5.53%, pesticide residue exceeding standards 46.45%.
For the unqualified foods found in the supervision and sampling inspection, the market supervision departments have released the results to the public, and taken measures in a timely manner in accordance with relevant regulations to strictly control food safety risks.
