Q: Can hydrogenated vegetable oil be added to children's snacks?
A: According to the food classification system of Appendix E of GB 2760-2014 National Food Safety Standard Standard for Uses of Food Additives, hydrogenated vegetable oil belongs to a food category and is not a food additive. Whether it can be added to a specific food should be judged according to laws, regulations and standards. For example, in GB 10769-2010 National Food Safety Standard Cereal-based Complementary Foods for Infants and Young Children and GB 10770-2010 National Food Safety Standard Canned Complementary Foods for Infants and Young Children, it is clear that "hydrogenated oils and fats should not be used" in the requirements for raw materials.
