On December 1, 2020, the State Administration for Market Regulation, together with the National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, released Catalogue of Health Food Ingredients Coenzyme Q10, Melatonin, Fish oil, Spirulina, and Sporoderm-broken of Ganoderma Lucidum spores powder, which will come into effect on March 1, 2021. This means that Coenzyme Q10, sporoderm-broken of Ganoderma Lucidum spores powder, spirulina, fish oil and melatonin can be declared as filing health foods from March 1 next year.

On April 8, 2020, NHC has issued an announcement on soliciting public opinions on National Food Safety Standard Milk Powder (Draft for Comments) and National Food Safety Standard Concentrated Dairy Products (Draft for Comments).

On June 12, GACC issued the Administrative Measures on Import and Export Food Safety (draft for comments), which is open to public consultation for comments. On July 27, 2020, the SAMR issued the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Food Labeling (Draft for Comment), which based on the opinions and suggestions collected in the first comment in 2019, SAMR has made amendments and is now solicit opinions again. Antion has compared the Draft with with the current Food Labeling Management Regulations and other relevant food labeling regulations, and analyze and interpret its main changes and impacts.

On August 31, the NHC issued a letter on soliciting comments on 16 national food safety standards (draft for comments), the deadline for feedback is October 20. Some product standards of dairy product are revised, including modified milk, fermented milk, processed cheese and cheese product, whey powder and whey protein powder.
